How to Restore BlackBerry Backup on Mac

Whether you’re experiencing technical issues with your BlackBerry or wish to recover information you’ve previously backed up, restore your BlackBerry by using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager application on your Macintosh computer. The application can be downloaded from the BlackBerry software section, or click the link located in the Resources section. The Desktop Manager application provides backup, restoration and media syncing for your BlackBerry device to your computer. To protect your information, back up your BlackBerry device monthly or weekly depending on your usage.

Things You’ll Need:

  • USB cable
  • BlackBerry Desktop Manager software

Step 1: Plug the USB cable into your BlackBerry device and plug the other end into your computer’s USB slot.

Step 2: Open your "Applications" folder in Finder and double-click the "BlackBerry Desktop Manager" icon to run the application.

Step 3: Click the "Restore" button at the top of the application’s window.

Step 4: Click the BlackBerry backup file you wish to restore, and click "Restore All Data" or "Restore Selected Data." To restore selected data, check the boxes next to the information you wish to restore.

Step 5: Click "Restore" to begin the restoration process.

Step 6: Disconnect your mobile device when the application window displays a "Safe to disconnect" message.
