The BlackBerry 8100 device, also referred to as the Pearl, is a thin, candy bar-style cell phone. Manufactured by Research in Motion, the 8100 is supported by most major carriers in the United States. One function of the Pearl is its dedicated mute key, which turns the microphone on and off with the push of a button.

Step 1: Ensure your 8100 is charged and has sufficient network coverage. Dial a number on the keypad or select a contact from your phone’s address book to initiate a phone call.

Step 2: Mute the microphone once the call has connected by pressing the mute button, located on the top of your phone. This button is on the left side of the top of the phone, and has an icon on it that looks similar to a megaphone with a line through it. You may also perform this function by pressing the BlackBerry menu button and using your trackball to scroll to the "Mute" option. Click the trackball to make a selection.

Step 3: Press the mute button again to turn mute mode off. You may also press the menu button, then use your trackball to scroll to "Turn mute off." Press your trackball in to select this option.

BlackBerry 6 will be available in the next calender quarter, and is set to be released along side

with the much rumored Webkit Browser. Speaking of the browser, it was interesting to hear that it will NOT be a stand alone application, and will be integrated into OS 6. BlackBerry 6 obviously will have support for both touch and non-touch screen devices, and will work on a variety of BlackBerry devices. One thing the co-CEO would not say is which devices it will and won’t run on.

RIM’s Wireless Enterprise Symposium keynote today provided a handful of extra details on BlackBerry OS 6.0. The mobile OS brings entirely revamped core apps, including the known WebKit browser and much improved media browsers. Contacts now have unified behavior and will show all the IM and social networking info for a user at a glance, including Facebook and Twitter.

A few third-party companies, such as Generic or ScreenGuardz, sell screen protectors specifically designed to adhere to BlackBerry Storm 9530 touch screens. These guards appear paper-thin, but are strong enough to protect from scratches. Applying these screen protectors may seem tricky at first due to their flimsiness, leaving air bubbles if done incorrectly. However, there is a technique to prevent an uneven application.

Step 1: Wipe all the dust and grime off your BlackBerry Storm 9530 screen using a microfiber cloth. Most of the screen protector kits include a microfiber cloth in the package. It’s important to remove the dust and grime from the screen to prevent any unwanted materials from being trapped against the screen while the protector is applied.

Step 2: Remove a screen protector from its plastic backing, being careful to only touch one side. The untouched side will adhere to the screen.

Step 3: Place the screen protector on the application card that came with your screen protector kit. Leave approximately an inch of the guard hanging over the edge of the card vertically. This inch of the protector will connect to the screen first as you line up the edge. By the end of this step, the majority of the protector should be placed on the card while two corners hang approximately 1 inch off one end vertically.

Step 4: Apply the protector. Line up the two hanging corners of the protector with two corners of your BlackBerry Storm and push down on these two corners. Pull the card out after the two corners or secured. The card should separate from the protector, leaving the protector to fall to the screen and naturally adhere.

Step 5: Use the card to scrape away air bubbles if necessary.

Therefore I love the Apple Macbook look. I had previously done a Leopard theme, however I don’t have the file to update it, so I went ahead and made it again from scratch. The colors throughout are pretty simple, Blue and Gray. The icons on the homescreen are smaller, but when focused in they enlarge to make it easier to see. Everything else is pretty self explanatory except the lock screen. I darkened it a bit to make it easier to read your “Owner” info regardless of wallpaper. I have to give a huge shoutout to Brandy from artistic-me.com, she is the one that originally had this “look” on her themes’ lockscreens. So thanks to her for the inspiration not to mention idea..
